Presenters will explain how to be a Green Thumb Gardener of Vegetables.  Presentation includes proper time to plant and harvest, how to control diseases and insects, adequate soil moisture, crop rotation and recommended varieties for spring gardens in this area. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. No pre-registration required. Class fee of $5 (for one class) payable at door – cash only please (exact change will be greatly appreciated). $8.00 for both classes on same Day. Refreshments provided: coffee, water and snack.

Best Ways to Start Your Vegetables Growing

Presenters will review importance of location, proper soil, types of fertilizers and awareness of freeze dates.  Knowledge of these factors will help to ensure propagation of vegetables both indoors and outdoors as participants practice “bumping up” of tomato plants and how to gather seeds and prepare them for storage.
