2026 Open Gardens Day

Please join us on April 18th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon for the “2026 Open Gardens” at the Montgomery County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office.  All are invited to take a stroll through our beautifully maintained gardens by the Montgomery County Master Gardeners at no charge to the public. 

What better way to get gardening ideas and learn more about enhancing your own yard! AND it’s a FUN way to enjoy nature and do something different!

Master Gardeners will be available to guide you and answer any questions you may have as you walk through the various gardens of your choice: Adaptive, Aquaponics, Bog, Composting, Discovery, EarthKind, Floral, Greenhouse, Herb, Memory, Orchard, Turf, & Vegetables.

This is a family friendly event as there are FUN, learning experiences for ALL ages.  There will be numerous activities for the children as well including a scavenger hunt, crafts, feeding the fish at the Bog, getting to know snakes and more!

There will be two 30-minute presentations for you to learn more about “Bees” and “Container Gardening”. These educational gardening classes will be offered in conjuncture with the Open Gardens’ Day event.  Children are welcome with parental supervision.  

Scheduled of Activities:

9:00 a.m. – Open Gardens entry

9:15 a.m. – Propagation Demonstration at Greenhouse #1

9:30 a.m. – Presentation in the Pavilion – “Bees”

10:00 a.m. – Propagation Demonstration at Greenhouse #1

10:30 a.m. – Presentation in the Tom LeRoy building – “Container Gardening”

10:45 a.m. – Propagation Demonstration at Greenhouse #1

11:45 a.m – Special Closing Event
