Arbor Day is an event sponsored by the Montgomery County Master Gardener Association, Texas A&M Forest Service, Texas AgriLife Extension, City of Conroe Parks Dept, Root for Conroe and other sponsors. Trees are free and are either potted or bagged for the smaller sizes.
The purpose of Arbor Day is to encourage people to plant trees which support wildlife and a healty ecosystem. One oak tree attracts thousands of pollinators and beneficial insects.
The Conroe event is usually held in February at Founders Park which is on the corner of Main St and 205 Metcalf St., Conroe TX 77301.
